Just finished reading this great book by Cynthia Barton-Rabe. (Cindy)
She talks about how the weight of what an organization know, especially what they collectively know, holds them back and stifles innovation because of the GroupThink and ExpertThink syndromes. Words cannot explain how elated I was reading Cindy's research, because now I have published material to back-up and demonstrate two things.
1. There is a huge value for organizations to involve crazy guys like me if they want to foster a culture of innovation. (Thanks Cindy for coining the term "Zero Gravity Thinkers" - Now I use it this term a lot in my conversations).
2. The book is a great reference for my future clients to understand there is a method behind my madness.
